31 posts Posted December 10, 2021 · Replaced main board of my Ultimaker 2+, but it does not boot? I had problems with the Z-direction stepper motor and decided to replace my mainboard. I ordered a original Ultimaker board and swap them. (being very mindfull to connect the cables at the right positions. When I power up the printer this happens.

I really can't afford to keep paying out for this machine. £250 is to much to pay out since this machine has already needed a new heated bed, hot end and stepper motor. Any help would be great!

Thanks for your help. i have an UM2+ whit Duet2Wifi and yes if you want to keep the stock hotend as I did then you need the PT100 daughterboard. But if you gonna use a E3D V6 and its sensors then you won't need the daughter board. if you upgrade to a duet2wifi then I can share my config file.

The jumper locations are denoted by Safety 1 & 2, what safety could be so mean? Could it be simple monitored switch inputs? Do you have any ideas on this matter?

21 posts Author Posted July 21, 2016 · Installing new main board in Ultimaker 2 Ok just ignore that post. I looked in the how to document for the original machine. Removed the cover for the display board and the control wheel and matched up EXP1 and 2 on the display board with the EXP1 and 2 on the main board. Should work I would expect. valcrow

Posted May 8, 2015 · Powering Raspberry Pi from Ultimaker 2 main board I've done this, I just hopped over to digi-key, picked out something that met the specs, plus a USB type-A port. Works like a charm. A DC/DC step-down from 24V should work fine, much better than using the 5V from the UM2 directly.
